My name is Stephanie Ann Schuck (hence SASsy).  Who am I?  I am a wife, a dog-mom, a teacher, a coach, soccer player, triathlete, and new mom!

Being active has been in my blood since I could walk.

About Me

After being a collegiate soccer player, I knew that I needed something to keep me driven and competitive.  Although, if you ask my husband, nothing will take away my competitive side.  Triathlon has become a hobby my husband and I enjoy doing together.

I did my first triathlon in 2008 in Naperville.  Didn't do that well, but I LOVED the thrill.  I found out there was a triathlon hosted where I went to college.  My boyfriend (now husband) and I decided to participate in 2009.  After graduating college, I tore my ACL in 2011 while playing soccer which put a hault to racing for the next 2 1/2 years.  My husband Matt and I got married in 2012 and after we got back from our honeymoon, I had surgery to repair my torn ACL and begin my recovery.

The summer of 2013 really started it all.

I'm no rockstar triathlete like others, but I enjoy the hard work (most of the time...) and the feeling you get when you cross the finish line.  I have goals that I want to achieve, but I also want to be able to enjoy life.  I am hoping that through these blog posts I can use my own experiences to motivate, encourage, and maybe help people relate to the ups and downs of this wonderful world of triathlon.

There are plenty of "fit mommy" blogs out there, but I had a hard time finding one I could relate to personally.  I am hoping as I move to the next stage of my life as becoming a parent, I can help spark some relate-ability with other age grouper triathletes.
